Hunter Biden’s Attorney Responds to Whistleblower Testimony

Hunter Biden’s attorney is addressing testimony from an IRS whistleblower who alleges that the agency obtained a WhatsApp message in which Hunter Biden invoked his father’s name. The whistleblower, IRS Criminal Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley Jr., claims that the agency obtained a message from WhatsApp dated July 30, 2017, in which Hunter Biden pressured Henry Zhao, CEO of Harvest Fund Management, to fulfill a commitment by mentioning his father’s presence. The attorney, Christopher Clark, has released a statement stating that these claims are misleading and that biased leaks are illegal.

Clark emphasizes that a close examination of the document released by the whistleblower raises serious questions about its authenticity, and it is dangerous to draw conclusions based on it. He also highlights that the period covered by the DOJ investigation was a time of turmoil and addiction for his client. Clark states that any of his client’s words or actions during this period are solely his own and have no connection to his family.

The attorney further explains that a five-year investigation by the DOJ recently concluded, resulting in his client taking responsibility for failure to file tax payments and a firearm charge. Clark defends the thoroughness of the investigation and calls any suggestion to the contrary irresponsible.

The alleged WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden states, “And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.” Clark also mentions that Hunter Biden has mentioned waiting for a call with his father.

Response from White House

In response to the whistleblower allegations, a spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s Office stated that President Biden was not involved in business with his son and that the Justice Department makes independent decisions in criminal investigations. The spokesperson expressed that the President loves his son and is proud of him accepting responsibility for his actions and rebuilding his life.

The attorney’s statement addresses the whistleblower’s allegations and defends his client, Hunter Biden, against claims of corruption. The White House has also responded, emphasizing the President’s lack of involvement in business with his son. The situation continues to garner attention and speculation.
