Former professional wrestler Droz, whose real name was Darren Drozdov, has passed away at the age of 54 due to natural causes, according to his family.

Droz, also known as a WWE superstar, started his career with the promotion in 1998.

However, his wrestling career came to a halt the following year after an in-ring accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Former WWE star Droz, whose real name was Darren Drozdov, passed away on Friday.

On Oct. 5, 1999, during a “WWF SmackDown!” match with D’Lo Brown at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, Droz suffered a fractured neck after landing on his head.

Droz was wearing a loose shirt during the match, which prevented Brown from executing a proper powerbomb, resulting in the accident.

Despite undergoings hours of surgery, Droz was left paralyzed. He and Brown have stated that it was a total accident. The incident was not broadcasted and has never been shown to the public.
