Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., is advocating for the inclusion of F-35 and F-15 fighter jets to be sent to Israel as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for this year.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Mills explained, “I proposed this amendment because it is crucial to recognize that maintaining Israel’s defense capabilities is directly tied to the national security interests of the United States. By prioritizing the upgrading and sale of F-15s and F-35s to Israel, we strengthen our ally’s ability to defend itself and contribute to regional stability.”

The proposed amendment, No. 118, also mandates that the secretary of defense provides Congress with a report on the progress and delivery schedule of the fighter shipments within 180 days of the NDAA’s enactment. Additionally, the report must outline methods to improve the production rate of the aircraft.

The Republican Party in the House has proposed numerous amendments to the annual defense budget, including initiatives aimed at addressing what some perceive as “woke” policies in the military. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., announced that over 200 amendments would be offered by House Republicans to combat “woke training” and ensure the military is prepared to confront adversaries like China.

“We’ve seen with [President] Biden moving the focus of our Department of Defense away from its core mission and trying to inject his woke ideology, and the left’s woke ideology, at the expense of our ability to confront our adversaries,” stated Scalise.
