Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman will begin his sixth college season at a different campus after transferring from Wake Forest following the 2022 college football season. This comes after Hartman underwent surgery in August 2022 to remove a blood clot caused by Paget-Schroetter syndrome during his time with the Demon Deacons. Hartman mentioned that the rib will soon be turned into a necklace. “The rib is doing well. It looks clean and has a fossil-like appearance. We’re only a couple of weeks away from finalizing the necklace, but we’re taking good care of it to ensure it remains intact,” said Hartman during his appearance on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Thursday. Hartman mentioned that his mother is in charge of making the necklace and although he doesn’t plan on wearing it frequently. She worked as a nurse in labor delivery, intensive care… She’s seen worse, I would say. She took the initiative and I asked her to make it like a puka shell type necklace, with the rib resembling a shark tooth at the end.” Following the procedure, Hartman only missed one game and returned for Wake Forest’s Week 2 matchup against Vanderbilt. Hartman had an impressive season, throwing for 3,701 yards and 38 touchdowns, leading the Demon Deacons to an 8-5 record. Wake Forest will visit South Bend, IN on November 18th for a game against Notre Dame. “The Wake Forest one’s tough. It’ll be tough all around. I think you’re at a place so long, you know everybody on the team other than the new guys that have just showed up in the summer,” expressed Hartman on Thursday. “It’s a big game for both teams. And obviously, every game that late in the season is going to be a big one.” NYNNC is a Sports Reporter for Fox News.
