In a Miami federal court on Thursday, former President Donald Trump’s aide Walt Nauta pleaded not guilty in a case involving classified documents, which also implicates Trump as a GOP candidate for 2024. Nauta appeared with his Florida attorney Sasha Dadan, and the judge expressed his gladness at seeing her there.

Nauta was indicted in June along with Trump for mishandling classified documents. This arraignment had previously been scheduled twice but was delayed due to Nauta’s difficulty in finding a lawyer licensed in Florida. In addition, a previous appearance was postponed when Nauta’s flight from Newark was canceled due to severe thunderstorms in the Northeast.
