Former President Donald Trump connected new revelations about Hunter Biden’s business dealings with President Biden’s alleged inaction regarding China’s spy base in Cuba during his speech at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority gala in Washington D.C. Trump referenced recent claims by an IRS whistleblower, who stated that the agency obtained a WhatsApp message from Hunter Biden to Henry Zhao, CEO of Harvest Fund Management, in 2017. In the message, Hunter Biden mentioned his father and pressured Zhao to fulfill a commitment. Hunter Biden’s account allegedly received $5 million shortly after, indicating a connection between the two events.

“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight,” wrote Biden.

Trump mocked Hunter Biden’s toughness after recounting the text messages and linked the situation to President Biden’s lack of action on reports of China’s efforts to build a spy base in Cuba. He suggested that Biden’s silence on the matter may be influenced by his past business dealings with China. Trump characterized Biden as a “compromised president” whose policies are potentially influenced by these business ties.

The Biden administration downplayed the report of a secret agreement between China and Cuba for an eavesdropping facility, claiming it is an ongoing issue that predates the administration. Trump argued that the situation is a much bigger story than Watergate and criticized Biden for not addressing or taking action on China’s military installations in Cuba.

Separately, Hunter Biden’s attorney released a statement criticizing the IRS whistleblower’s revelations, describing them as biased, politically motivated, and illegal leaks. The attorney stated that the document in question raises serious questions about its authenticity and warned against drawing conclusions based on it. They emphasized that any words or actions by Hunter Biden during his addiction struggles are solely his own and are not connected to his family.

In another incident involving China, President Biden referred to President Xi Jinping as a “dictator,” causing tension between the two nations. Trump, during his speech, threatened to impose heavy tariffs on China if they refused to abandon their plans for the spy base in Cuba.
